This policy explains what JM Design Works does with information about people who visit jmdesignworks.net or get in touch with us. It is written to describe what actually happens on this website, rather than to cover every possibility.
Who we are
JM Design Works is a website design studio operated by Mattyar Asadi, trading as JM Design Works, based in Maple, Ontario, Canada.

What we collect
Information you give us
If you fill in the contact form, we receive whatever you enter into it:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your business name, if you provide one
- The budget range you select
- The message you write
If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you write.
Information collected automatically
Like any website, ours runs on servers that keep basic access logs. These may include your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you requested. We do not use this information to build a profile of you, and we do not look at it unless we are investigating a technical problem.
What we do not collect
This website sets no cookies. It uses no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no session or local storage. We do not track you across other websites, and we cannot tell whether you have visited before.
Why we use it
- To reply to you. If you contact us, we use your details to answer, prepare a mockup or quote, and continue the conversation.
- To run and protect the site. Server logs help keep the site available and let us investigate faults or abuse. The contact form includes a hidden field used only to filter out automated spam.
We do not use your information for marketing. We will not add you to a mailing list, and we will not send you promotional email because you filled in the form.
Our legal basis
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), we rely on your consent. Choosing to fill in the contact form or email us is that consent, for the purpose of us replying. You can withdraw it at any time by asking us to delete your information.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own purposes. It passes through a small number of service providers who help us run the business:

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid legal request.
Where it is stored
Our providers are based in the United States, so your information is stored and processed there and may be subject to US law. If you would rather not have your details handled that way, please do not use the contact form — email or phone us instead, though our email is also hosted by Google.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails and form submissions for 24 months from your last contact with us, so we can pick up a conversation if you come back. After that we delete them. If you become a client, we keep project records for six years, which is the period the Canada Revenue Agency requires business records to be retained.
Server logs are kept only briefly by our hosting provider and then discarded automatically.
How we protect it
- The whole site is served over HTTPS, so anything you submit is encrypted in transit.
- Email is encrypted in transit and at rest by Google Workspace.
- Every account with access to your information is protected by two-factor authentication.
- Only Mattyar Asadi has access. There are no other staff.
- We do not take or store payment card details on this website.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we do not hold more than we need, which is the most effective protection available to a studio our size.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA you can:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate
- Ask us to delete it
- Withdraw your consent to us holding it
- Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you think we have handled it badly
Email info@jmdesignworks.net and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
Children
This site is aimed at business owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 13.

Where we link to another site, this policy does not cover it. Please read theirs.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and we hold your details, we will email you.
